10th August 2017

Weather: NNW 3 vis 30 mls

With only a Willow Warbler and Wheatear new in today attention remained on waders and sea birds, with a good number of Little Terns again (45), this time feeding just off the North end after tide. There were 260 Sandwich Terns and 40 Common.
There was a good variety of waders with at least 10 Sanderling mixed in with the 200 Dunlin and 30 Ringed Plover.
Two Grey Plover were heard and 75 Knot roosted on Middle with 3,000 Oystercatcher. Also present were small numbers of Whimbrel, Curlew and Redshank.
A brief sea watch saw 13 Common Scoter and 2 Great Crested Grebe. A Kestrel paid a very brief visit to the islands early morning.
